Olivia Dunne reunites with Aly Raisman in gymnastics, “I just touched Aly Raisman again!”
Aly Raisman, the three-time gold medallist, and Olivia Dunne had an Olympic-scale reunion on Wednesday.
On Instagram, Dunne—whose Lady Tigers are scheduled to compete in the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship semifinals on Thursday—took a picture with the former gymnast, who is commentating for ESPN during the competition, almost 12 years after their first meeting.
“Guys … I just touched Aly Raisman again!” Alongside an August 2012 Instagram photo from the LSU star, Dunne wrote the following as the caption for a more recent image of herself with Raisman: “I can’t believe it I touched Aly Raisman!!!!!”

The image was reportedly shot a few weeks after Raisman participated in the London 2012 Olympics when she took home two gold medals for team competition and floor exercises in addition to a bronze for the balancing beam.
Throughout her career, she won six Olympic medals. In Rio de Janeiro in 2016, she added three more, winning a gold in the team competition and two silvers in the all-around and floor exercise.
In January 2020, 29-year-old Raisman announced her retirement from gymnastics and made the switch to broadcasting.

As Dunne approaches the conclusion of her final year at LSU, she is getting ready for her next chapter following college.
The student-athlete and social media sensation, who has 13 million followers on both her Instagram and TikTok pages, celebrated LSU’s fifth SEC Championship title last month. According to the program’s website, the Tigers scored 198.075, matching the team’s highest point total at the championships.
“100% chance of purple reign,” Dunne, who is 21 years old, exclaimed on Instagram.

The second-ranked Tigers in the country will play California, Stanford, and Arkansas in Thursday’s first semifinal match at the championship in Fort Worth, Texas.

The top two teams from the second semifinal session (Alabama, Florida, Utah, and the top-ranked Arkansas team) will face the winners of the first session’s competition in the NCAA Championship Final on Sunday.
In April of last year, LSU placed fourth at the NCAA Championships.
